? The ANSI code on a lamp or device indicates that the product meets ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards. ANSI is an organisation that develops standards for performance, dimensions and safety. Lamps with corresponding ANSI codes are interchangeable.
? These lamps can be applied directly to mains voltage 230V AC (alternating current)
? These lamps can be applied on a conventional ballast (wounded coil, choke or magnetic ballast).
? These lamps can be applied with an electronic ballast (EVSA or HF ballast). Consult the manufacturer's compatibility lists to check whether the combination is compatible.
? These lamps can be applied to an LED driver. Please note the manufacturer's specifications for the correct current value.
? The life span of a party of lamps of which 50% of the lamps will continue to function. Sometimes, incandescent or halogen lamps may become defective more quickly, but in case 50% of the lamps do still reach the lifespan, the lamps are still OK.
? A conventional ballast has a wound coil. It is somewhat cheaper to buy, but more expensive to run because more power is converted into heat. An electronic ballast not only has a lower power consumption, but it also has the advantage of longer lamp life.
?

Version of the ballast.

? The foot may have been different versions. The 1 circuit track adapter is brand specific.
The 3 phase track adapter is universal and applicable to most brands rail.
? The wider the light beam, the larger the illuminated surface. Brightness decreases as the beam widens, since the light is divided over a larger area.
For creating high contrasts it is therefore recommended to apply smaller light beams. However, contrasts that are too high can be distracting and can cause adjustment problems for the eye, which can be tiring. On the other hand, too little contrast creates a dull and flat impression.
? If the product is unbranded, we do not have a regular supplier for itTherefore, the product version may slightly vary.
?

Luminaire or lamp has a built-in motion detector. The light will switch on when a movement is detected.

? Luminaire or lamp holder is equipped with a switch.
?

Luminaire or lamp has a twilight switch function. This automatically switches on the lights as it gets dark.

?

Ballasts that include an ignitor to start the HID lamp are limited in the distance between ignitor / ballast and lamp. This capacity in pF may not be higher than the maximum value. A typical value for cable is 100pF/meter.

? Connecting cable length in metres.
? The value of a capacitor, expressed in uF (microfarads).
? Carrying surface can vary, such as matt or glossy.
? Most common colour in the product.
? Light colour is often represented with a 3 digit number. The first digit indicates the CRI (Colour Rendering Index) or CRI Ra value:
5 = 50-59
6 = 60-69
7 = 70-79
8 = 80-89
9 = 90-99
The last 2 digits are for colour temperature.
The higher the colour temperature, the cooler the impression of light.
Warm white creates a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Neutral cool-white creates a more businesslike atmosphere.
Low lighting levels in interior must be obtained with warm-white light. If a very high level of light is needed, this must be achieved with neutral or cool white light.
2700K extra warm white
3000K warm white
3500K neutral white
4000K cool white
5000-5500K daylight
6000K cool daylight
? Light sources can be classified on the basis of their colour rendering properties. The unit for colour rendering is called CRI (Colour Rendering Index, or CRI Ra value). The scale of the Ra is from 50 to 100.
Ra = 90-100 excellent colour rendering properties
Ra = 80-90 good colour rendering properties
Ra = 60-80 moderate colour rendering properties
Ra <60 poor colour rendering properties
Fluorescent and PL lamps with an equal power, the luminous flux of Ra 90-100 tubes is typically 20% lower.
?

Colour temperature is expressed in kelvin (K). The higher the colour temperature, the cooler the impression of the light:

2700K: extra warm white
3000K: warm white
3500K: neutral white
4000K: cool white
5000-5500K: daylight
6000K: cool daylight

Extra warm white creates a warm, inviting atmosphere (e.g. hotel, living room, and catering). Warm white can be used for a pleasant atmosphere (e.g. retail and office). Neutral cool white creates a more businesslike atmosphere, this color gives a sterile atmosphere.
Low lighting levels are obtained in interior with warm white light. If a very high level of light is needed, neutral or cool white light is a good choice.

? Number of hours after which 10% of the lamps have been interrupted when using a conventional (wound with copper wire, not electronic) ballast.
? Number of hours after which 50% of the lamps have been interrupted when using a conventional (wound with copper wire, not electronic) ballast.
? A front glass has the advantage that the inner reflector cannot contaminate it.
Some lamps have a matte or coloured glass front.
? Length of the cover in (milli)metres.
?

Material of which the cover of the product is made.

A Polycarbonate (PC) cover is mechanically much stronger (impact resistant) but less chemically resistant to a number of substances. For general purposes, this is a good choice.

Acrylic (PMMA)  is robust but more resistant to eg hydrochloric acid> 20%, formic acid, 10% nitric acid, ammonia (liquid), often used in piggeries and car washes.

?

The surface area of the core (mm2).

? Depth in millimetres.
? Diameter in millimetres, measured at the widest point.

Dim to warm is a dimming technique that adjusts colour temperature as the light is dimmed: it shifts from warm white to extra warm white when fully dimmed. This technique has various names, such as Dimtone or Glowdim.

? Some lamps and ballasts are dimmable. There are different types of dimmers and different ways to dim a ballast or transformer. In case of insufficient knowledge, please check with our sales department.
? Not every dimmable ballast or light source can dim to 0% level, here is the dimming range.
? Earthing connection available.
? This is the code for car lamps to indicate that they comply with European legislation. Lamps with the same ECE code are interchangeable.
? Number of hours with 10% of the lamps has been interrupted by application of an electronic (or HF) ballast.
? If a luminaire has an emergency function, the autonomy time is indicated here.
? The way the suspension of the filament is made. Ordinary light bulbs have a standard suspension. Reinforced construction lights are equipped with additional mounting points for the glow wire, making the light more resistant to vibration. These lamps can be applied on handlamps, trains, boats and other places with a lot of vibration, such as machinery and wooden floors. These lamps can also be used without problems at home.
? The diameter of the flange measured at the widest point.
? The thickness of the flange measured at its thickest point.

The IP (Ingress Protection) code indicates the degree of protection against ingress of moisture and solid objects. The code consists of two firures.
The first figure indicates the protection against objects and dust:
IP 0x - not protected
IP 1x - protected against objects with a diameter above 50 mm
IP 2x - protected from objects with a diameter greater than 12 mm (touch safe)
IP 3x - protected from objects with a diameter greater than 2.5 mm
IP 4x - protected against objects with a diameter greater than 1 mm
IP 5x - protected against dust ( dust )
IP 6x - dustproof

The second figure indicats the protection against water:
IP x0 - unprotected (plain)
IP x1 - Protected against dripping water (drip)
IP x2 - Protected against dripping water when tilted to 15 degrees
IP x3 - protected against spraying water (rain tight)
IP x4 - protected against splashing water (splash proof)
IP x5 - protected against water jets (splashproof)
IP x6 - protected from rainstorms
IP x7 - protected against accidental immersion (30 minutes to 1 meter deep) (waterproof)
IP x8 - protected from stay under water (pressure proof)

? This is the code on the lamp or appliance that the lamps meet the standards LIF. LIF stands for Lighting Industry Federation. This institute developed standards for performance, safety and dimensions. Lamps with a similar LIF code are interchangeable.
? Type of lamp that fits in the luminaire. In some cases, several types of lamps can be used in one luminaire.
? The amount of light as a percentage that is transmitted through the material.
? Application of the luminaire depending on the environment. For example, an indoor fitting cannot be used outdoors. An outdoor luminaire, on the other hand, could be used indoors, but may be less suitable here, fore example because it provides too much light or is aesthetically unsuitable.
? Type of luminaire application.
? Version can vary, , for example left or right variant, with frame or without frame ( trimless, frameless or no frame).
? The amount of light transmitted by the light source per second. The unit of luminous flux is the lumen (lm).
? The light flux that is emitted in a certain direction. The unit of luminous intensity is the candela (cd).
? Colour of the M6 coupler which is mounted op suspended ceiling clip.
? Material of which the major part of the product is made.
? Maximum amount of power, expressed in watts, that can be connected to the transformer in order to work properly. If the assets exceed this maximum amount, the transformer may behave abnormally: known phenomena in electronic transformers are the lights switching on and off, and no output voltage.
? The minimum power must be connected to the transformer to work properly. If the assets are below the transformer behave abnormally. Known phenomena are electronic transformers are flashing lights, brighter and fainter burning lamps and no output voltage.

A conventional wound transformer must be at least 75% of the maximum power charge. If the load is below this limit, the output voltage too high making the lamps extremely much shorter life. The color of the lamps is usually very white.
?  The dimensions or art of the mounting hole or thread. Note M8x1, M10x1 and  M13x1 are fine metric and not eqal to the standard thread!
? Number of wires in the cable or cord.
? Number of modules of 18mm width, which is the standard size for DIN track components.
? Number of poles of the component. A switchable neutral is not protected.
? The life span of a lamp may be limited by the number of switch cycles, which is the number of times a lamp can be switched on and off before it becomes defective.
? Each type of LED requires a different driver. Current-controlled LEDs of 350, 700, 1050 and 1400mA need to be connected in series. This can be easily done with an LED distributor. Unused outputs are shorted with a wire . First connect the wires, then you can put power on! Never disconnect wires under power!
? The output voltage is indicated here. Voltage-controlled LEDs must always be connected in parallel.
? Outside diameter for round items.
? Outside Dimension is the largest size, often of the lamp head.
? Premium White gives the best possible light quality for fashion shops and supermarkets.

? The required recessed height behind the luminaire. More space is often needed due to heat development and tilting of the luminaire.
? Length of the reel in metres.
? The type of reflector which is in the armature located. For TL-D luminaires matt the most applied, dirt on the reflector is not or hardly seen. For T5 fixtures is a high gloss reflector optical much nicer, the luminaire is less seen. In the LTS fittings with SDW-T or SDW-TG lamps for the bakery in the past is often used a gold reflector for a warmer color. For expansion with existing fixtures would be an option. We prefer a silver reflector with possibly a bakery filter because much less distortion of the color displays compared to a gold reflector.
