Placing orders and payment

Customer account

To order from us, you will need a customer account, which you can request hereYour request for a customer account will be forwarded to our credit management department during office hours. Once your information has been approved, we will send you a user name and password. If your application is rejected, you will receive a notification by e-mail.

Please note that we do not deliver to private individuals. First Light is a technical wholesaler that supplies shops, businesses, installers, customers in industry, governments, retailers, lighting designers, educational institutions, associations, and other institutions.


Payment methods

We accept the payment methods listed below. Please note that not every payment method is available in every country. During checkout, you will see an overview of the methods available in your country.

We also offer the option of payment on account. This can only be requested by e-mail. Your request will be examined by our credit management department.


Placing your order

There are several ways you can order from us. For example, you can manually look up items in our assortment and add them to your shopping cart. Afterwards, click on the shopping cart at the top right of the page to place your order. There are also two other options that make ordering even faster and more convenient: quick order and order upload. These functions are useful when you already know which items you need and have the article numbers ready.

Quick order: With the quick order function, you will only need to enter the articles numbers and quantities of the required items. You can then proceed directly to checkout.

Order upload: You can also easily upload your order from an Excel file (please note that the link to this function and the header in the blue bar at the top of the page only work when you are logged in to your account. Otherwise, the link will take you to our homepage). You can import either an entire file or paste the contents of your worksheet into a text field. The file should contain the following data: column 1: our article number or EAN code; column 2: article description; column 3: order quantity.


Shopping cart and shipping method

After you have added the required items and clicked on 'checkout' or your shopping cart, you will see a summary of your cart. Please check carefully whether you have added everything in the correct version and quantity. 

This summary also shows whether the products are currently in stock. Once you have placed the order, the items are reserved for you. If an item is not in stock, it is indicated when the item can be dispatched. Please note that this is an expected shipping date, based on previous orders, and not a guaranteed shipping date. If not all articles in your order are immediately available, we will wait until your order is complete before dispatching, to avoid extra shipping costs. However, you can choose partial delivery, up to a maximum of 2 shipments per order. If you choose this option, you will therefore pay shipping costs twice.

After selecting your preferred shipping method (shipping or pick-up; click here for an overview of shipping costs), you can proceed to checkout.


Checkout

The payment of your order consists of 4 steps. During the first 3 steps, you can still modify your shopping cart.

Step 1 - Shipping address: If you have chosen shipping with parcel service, enter the shipping address here. You can choose from a saved address or add a new one.

Step 2 - Payment method: Choose your desired payment method from the list of available methods.

Step 3 - Review: Here you can review your shopping basket and data and modify any information if necessary. Next, you can confirm the order.

Step 4 - Complete: Your order has been placed. Within a few seconds, you will receive your order confirmation by e-mail.
