Electronic transformers are currently the most used because they can be easily dimmed, are compact in size, have a low weight, produce little noise, and because they guarantee high energy efficiency and long lamp life. A limitation of this type of transformer is that the length of the output wires should not exceed 2 metres. If a longer length is required, for instance in tension wire lighting systems,
conventional transformers should be applied. This type is characterised by its high weight.
