Pay attention when choosing a transformer. Electronic transformers are currently the most used because they can be easily dimmed, are compact in size and low in weight, produce little noise, and because they guarantee high energy efficiency and long lamp life. However, a limitation of this type of transformer is that the length of the output wires should not exceed 2 metres. If a longer length is required, for instance in tension wire lighting systems, convential transformers should be applied.
